How it works
Every player maps to his team’s 2026 bye week from the official NFL schedule. The checker counts your players per bye week: two players out in the same week is flagged as a clash, three or more is a red alert. The big number on the panel is your worst week — the one to circle on the calendar and plan waivers around.
When double-byes actually matter
Not all clashes are equal, and treating them equally is how drafters talk themselves into bad picks. The clash that hurts is same-position stacking at a thin position: both of your starting running backs (or both tight ends) off in the same week means starting waiver-wire fodder at a spot where waiver-wire fodder scores four points. Cross-position doubling — say your QB and your kicker both off in week 10 — is usually harmless and sometimes good: you concentrate the pain into one punt week instead of limping through two. One likely loss beats two coin-flips turned against you.
Why week 11 is uniquely brutal in 2026
The 2026 schedule squeezes six teams — Atlanta, Cleveland, Green Bay, the Rams, New England, and Seattle — into a single week 11 bye. That’s nearly a fifth of the league idle at once, and the list is loaded with fantasy anchors: Bijan Robinson, Puka Nacua, the Packers’ and Seahawks’ pass games. In a 12-team league, everyone is scrambling that week, which means the waiver wire is picked clean by Wednesday. If the checker shows you two or more players out in week 11 (“Byemageddon”), handle it in the draft or via early-season trade — you will not fix it on waivers that week.
The draft-table tactic
Never reach to avoid a bye clash. Passing on the better player costs you points for thirteen weeks to protect one; that trade is always bad. Byes are a tiebreaker, not a ranking input: when two players sit side-by-side on your board — same tier, same coin-flip — take the one who doesn’t share a bye with the starters you already drafted. Free insurance costs nothing; paid insurance costs a round.
