Half-PPR pts = standard + 0.5 × receptions; full PPR = standard + 1 × receptions — computed from each player’s actual catches, so the shift is exact. Ranks are within the current position pool. How it works

The three formats differ by a single rule: what a reception is worth. Every catch scores +1 point in full PPR, +0.5 in half-PPR, and 0 in standard. Nothing else changes — yards and touchdowns pay the same everywhere. So the whole comparison reduces to two exact formulas applied to each player’s actual 2025 catch total:

half-PPR points = standard points + 0.5 × receptions
full-PPR points = standard points + 1 × receptions

The table computes half and full PPR from receptions rather than trusting three separate totals, so the relationship is exact by construction (the build also asserts the identity against the source data). The Shift column is the player’s standard rank minus his PPR rank: positive means he rises when receptions score, negative means he falls. Because a reception is literally the only variable, shift is a pure measure of how much of a player’s value lives in his target share.

Who rises, who falls

The archetypes are consistent every season. Risers are players who catch a lot of passes relative to their scoring: satellite and third-down backs, slot receivers, and target-hog tight ends. Fallers are the mirror image: two-down grinder backs and TD-dependent boundary receivers whose points arrive in yardage chunks and short scores, not catches.

The 2025 data makes it concrete. Cade Otton ( TE, TB) caught 59 passes and climbs from No. 147 in standard to No. 113 in full PPR — a 34-spot rise, about 3 rounds of draft value in a 12-team league. At the other extreme, Tank Bigsby ( RB, PHI) caught just 3 passes all season and slides from No. 171 to No. 220 once every catch scores. Same players, same season — the format alone moves them 83 combined spots.

Pure rushers with near-zero receptions produce the most violent negative shifts — that isn’t a bug, it’s the whole point of the comparison. Quarterbacks are excluded because they don’t catch passes; their rank barely twitches across formats. Kickers and defenses have no receptions at all.
