- Value = ROS points above replacement: (ROS PPG − replacement PPG) × games left, never below 0. Repl. = at or below replacement, ranked by ROS points.
- Tier: players within one point per game (over the games left) of the tier's best player.
- Schedule grades Weeks 4–17 and Weeks 15–17 on the playoff schedule tool's A–D scale, from each opponent's 2025 + 2026 points allowed to the position. It is context: it is not in the value, because adding it made the backtest worse.
- Market prior: his preseason Fantasy Football Calculator ADP rank and the share of the ROS PPG it carries (4 games of weight, fading as his 2026 games pile up).
Show the math: Jahmyr Gibbs
ROS PPG = (n × model + 4 × ADP PPG) ÷ (n + 4) · value = max(0, ROS PPG − replacement) × games left
Jahmyr Gibbs (DET RB): his model line is worth 20.37 half-PPR points a game over 3 2026 games. The market prior is his preseason RB1 ADP, worth 21.51 a game and counted as 4 games: (3 × 20.37 + 4 × 21.51) ÷ (3 + 4) = 21.02 half-PPR points a game.
Scored in your league (Half-PPR), that stat line is worth 21.00 a game (0.03 off the blend because the stat line is stored rounded).
Games left, Weeks 4–17: 13 (not counting his Week 6 bye). ROS points: 21.00 × 13 = 272.9.
Replacement: A replacement RB in your settings is the RB33 at 8.3 PPG. 12 teams × 2 RB = 24 starters, and the flex seats take 8 more, so the best RB left is the RB33.
Value above replacement: (21.00 − 8.26) × 13 = 165.6 points.
A replacement QB in your settings is the QB13 at 17.2 PPG. A replacement RB in your settings is the RB33 at 8.3 PPG. A replacement WR in your settings is the WR29 at 9.0 PPG. A replacement TE in your settings is the TE13 at 8.4 PPG.

How the rankings are built
A rest-of-season ranking answers one question: how many more points will this player give you than the player you could replace him with? Five steps, every one printed on the table or in its math panel.
1. Points per game. The same projection model as the weekly boards — his share of his team's targets, carries and pass attempts, his efficiency, and his red-zone usage — run with no opponent and no Vegas line, because future lines don't exist yet. Then his preseason ADP is blended in as a market prior worth 4 games of evidence:
ROS PPG = (n × model + 4 × ADP PPG) ÷ (n + 4)
where n is his 2026 games and ADP PPG is what the player drafted at his ADP spot scored per game last season. After three games the prior still carries 57% of the number; after twelve, 25%. The result is stored as a per-game stat line, so your scoring — PPR, 6-point passing touchdowns, TE premium, points per first down — is applied to it directly.
2. Games left. His team's scheduled games from this week through Week 14 (the usual regular season) or Week 17 (through the fantasy final). A bye is not a game and is named on his row; a game that has already kicked off is gone.
3. Rest-of-season points = ROS PPG × games left.
4. Replacement level. Fill every team's starting lineup with the best available players — dedicated slots first, then the flex, then superflex — exactly as the VBD cheat sheet does. The best player left over at each position is replacement level: roughly what the waiver wire should give you. League size, lineup and superflex all move it; the table prints the level for your settings.
5. Value = max(0, ROS PPG − replacement PPG) × games left. That is the ranking. Players at or below replacement are worth about 0 over a free pickup; they follow in ROS-points order.
Tiers hold the players within 1 point per game of the tier's best player over the games left. In a single week, projections that close go either way about half the time.
The schedule column is context, not value. It grades each team's remaining opponents and its Weeks 15–17 opponents A–D, on the same scale and the same 2025 + 2026 points-allowed table as the fantasy playoff schedule tool. It is deliberately left out of the value: the backtest below found that adding schedule made rest-of-season projections worse. Defense-vs-position is context for the same reason.
The backtest
We checked the method at Weeks 5, 8 and 11 of the 2024 and 2025 seasons against what every player actually scored per game over the rest of the season, through Week 17. Each cell is the average miss in half-PPR points per game, then the rank correlation (higher is better), averaged over the three checkpoints.
The schedule-neutral model with the ADP prior beat each player's season average at every position in both seasons — for running backs in 2025, 2.78 points a game off against 3.21. Adding strength of schedule made it worse everywhere, badly at quarterback (3.25 → 4.17 in 2025). That is why schedule is its own column. A lighter defense-vs-position tilt was about neutral, so it is not in the value either.
| Pos | Season | This model | Season PPG | With schedule | Model, no prior |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| QB | 2025 | 3.25 / 0.49 | 4.19 / 0.35 | 4.17 / 0.06 | 3.37 / 0.40 |
| QB | 2024 | 4.02 / 0.46 | 4.59 / 0.44 | 4.89 / 0.24 | 4.51 / 0.40 |
| RB | 2025 | 2.78 / 0.70 | 3.21 / 0.64 | 3.08 / 0.65 | 2.88 / 0.70 |
| RB | 2024 | 3.00 / 0.73 | 3.25 / 0.72 | 3.28 / 0.70 | 3.15 / 0.71 |
| WR | 2025 | 2.64 / 0.71 | 3.16 / 0.56 | 2.70 / 0.69 | 2.62 / 0.68 |
| WR | 2024 | 2.74 / 0.69 | 2.98 / 0.66 | 2.96 / 0.66 | 2.92 / 0.67 |
| TE | 2025 | 2.24 / 0.59 | 2.58 / 0.55 | 2.45 / 0.49 | 2.35 / 0.55 |
| TE | 2024 | 2.22 / 0.66 | 2.39 / 0.62 | 2.36 / 0.60 | 2.35 / 0.63 |
Walk-forward: each checkpoint used only data available at the time. The weekly model's settings were fit on 2025 Weeks 4–11, so 2024 is the cleaner test (two of its settings were chosen after looking at 2024). The one cell it doesn't win is wide receivers' 2025 miss, where the model without the prior was 0.02 lower. Preseason ADP on its own stays a strong quarterback signal into midseason (rank correlation 0.51 in 2025), which is why the prior carries 4 games of weight.
What these rankings can't tell you
The rest of a season is noisy. Even the best predictor in the backtest missed by 2–4 points a game on average. Treat players a tier apart as close; treat players a few spots apart as a coin flip.
Injuries beyond this week aren't in it. A player ruled Out on this week's report, or on injured reserve on nflverse's weekly rosters (flagged on his row), loses this week's game; how long a longer absence, a season-ending injury or an IR stint lasts is not known to the model, so his later games still count. Check the injury report.
Role changes are its blind spot. A backup promoted this week has no share history yet, a starter back from injury is projected on old games, and a traded player carries his old team's share until he builds a new one.
Quarterbacks lean on the market. Preseason ADP was as good a quarterback predictor as the model into midseason, so QB values move slowly with 2026 games.
Some scoring isn't projected. 100- and 300-yard bonuses, long-touchdown bonuses and return touchdowns pay on single games, not averages; those settings are ignored. Kickers and defenses aren't ranked here — see kicker streamers and DST streaming rankings.
Redraft only. Nothing past Week 17 counts — no age, no next season. For trades, the trade value chart puts these same values on a 0–100 scale.
