How it works

A draft board is just a grid — teams across the top in round-1 order, rounds down the side — and every cell's overall pick number comes from one line of math. With T teams, round r, and column c:

forward round: pick = (r − 1) × T + c
reversed round: pick = (r − 1) × T + (T − c + 1)

Which rounds reverse is the whole difference between the three draft orders:

• Snake — odd rounds run left-to-right, even rounds run right-to-left. The team picking 12th gets picks 12 and 13 back-to-back at the turn.
• Third-round reversal (3RR) — round 1 runs forward, then rounds 2 and 3 both run in reverse before normal alternation resumes (round 4 forward, round 5 reversed, and so on). The double-reverse hands pick 25 to the team that drafted 12th, softening the first-overall advantage. Toggle it on the board above and watch rows 2 and 3 both count down.
• Linear — every round runs forward. Team 1 picks first in every round; mostly seen in leagues that auction or lottery the order each year.

How to run a live draft board

The board only works if draft night has a system. The checklist that works:

• Supplies — the printed board (letter-size for a table draft, or poster-size for the wall), the label sheets on 30-up sticker stock, two Sharpies for late-round players who aren't in the label pool, painter's tape for hanging, and a phone or kitchen timer for the pick clock.
• Who stickers — not the person drafting. The commissioner (or the on-deck drafter) peels and places the label for the pick that was just made, announces it, then starts the next clock. The drafter's job is drafting; the board falls behind the moment pickers sticker their own picks.
• Pick clock — 90 seconds for rounds 1–3 while trades and panic happen, 60 seconds through round 10, then 30 seconds to the end. A 12-team, 15-round draft at that pace lands around two hours, which is exactly as long as a room full of adults stays fun.
• The labels double as a cheat sheet — they're stacked in ADP order, so the top of the unpeeled stack is literally the best player available by consensus. Watching your rival peel from the middle of the stack tells you something too.

Printing: board and labels

Everything prints straight from the browser — no PDF downloads, no watermarks. The board prints landscape on letter paper; for the classic 36 × 24 wall poster, print at 400% or plot it at your print shop (use the browser's “print to PDF” first and hand them the file — the grid keeps poster proportion). The label kit fits standard 30-up address labels — the Avery 5160 layout of 3 columns × 10 rows of 1″ × 2⅝″ — with exact sheet margins baked into the print CSS: print at 100% scale with default margins and enable “background graphics” in the print dialog. Each label carries rank, name, position + positional rank, team, 2026 bye week, and ADP, with a position-coded color bar that still reads in grayscale because the position is printed right next to it.

Where the player data comes from

Labels are ordered by live consensus ADP from Fantasy Football Calculator for your scoring format (standard, half-PPR, or full-PPR — switching reorders the whole kit), and bye weeks come from the 2026 NFL schedule via nflverse (CC-BY 4.0). Early-summer ADP pools run shallower than the 300-label cap; depth fills in with the weekly refresh as draft season approaches, and the tool tells you if your board outsizes the current pool.
